Why Phoenix?
IOFLOOD colocates all of its servers in a state of the art datacenter in Phoenix, AZ. Phoenix compares favorably to locations such as Los Angeles, San Jose, Seattle, Dallas, Miami, and Atlanta because of of its lack of natural disasters such as earthquakes, hurricanes, tornados, etc. With stable weather and dry air, cooling a Phoenix datacenter is very easy and predictable.
Contrary to popular belief, it can actually be easier to cool servers in a dry hot environment than in a cold wet environment, because you can take advantage of evaporative cooling and you don’t have to worry about compressors freezing up and failing from high humidity. These advantages help offset some of the disadvantages of operating in a higher temperature than you would find in datacenters located in New York City, Chicago, or Ashurn Virginia.
In addition to weather, Phoenix’s geographic location provides many of the same benefits you would see from hosting in Los Angeles or San Jose. Specifically, being only 300 miles from the major Asian network landing points in the US, latency from Phoenix to China, Australia, South Korea, Singapore, and other Asia Pacific regions is only 5-10ms higher than you’d get if you were hosting in Los Angeles. IOFLOOD is proud to be using reliable hardware from reputable brands. Currently, we use Hitachi, Western Digital, and Seagate hard drives, and Intel and Samsung SSDs. Our Dual Xeon offerings above use quality Dell datacenter edition C1100 and C6100 servers, while our single CPU offerings use the latest in power efficient Supermicro motherboards and servers. Our network uses a mix of Cisco, Juniper, and Brocade switches and routers to offer the best performance and reliability.

What about the IOFLOOD network?
All IOFLOOD servers are connected by default at 1gbps to our redundant network. With multiple upstream providers connected at 10gbps using BGP for routing redundancy and performance, you can be assured of high performance reliable network access. Our current providers include:

* Tinet SpA (10gbps) ASN 3257 (also known as Inteliquent or GTT)
